Canola Oil
Did you know that Canola Oil is: Canada + Oil ? I read on another blog today that it is just a play on words. I guess I never really thought about it. I just assumed it was some sort of corn oil. Evidently "Canadians bred canola from the rapeseed plant in the early 1970s..." Who knew? Now you do!

It used to be called rapeseed oil, but that was a tough name to market. Voila: canola
The prune people tried the same thing with dried plums a few years ago.
