Summertime and the livin' is easy!

Well we had Vacation Bible School this week and had lots of fun. It was really tough getting up and out of the house 5 mornings in a row and it reminded me once again how blessed I am to not be working outside the home. By Friday evening we were all tired and I decided it was time to start a new family tradition that I picked up from this show. Ice cream for dinner! It did not take me long at all to talk A and A into the car and off we went to The Marble Slab.

The only problem is this - my plan was to make this a once a year thing but now I am thinking I sure don't want to wait 365 more days until we do that again. Maybe quarterly???

Caught my nephew Max's last baseball game of the season this morning (he had 3 triples BTW)

did a little swinging

and then had a blast swimming at Uncle Mark and Aunt Danette's pool

The shout out this week goes to my brother Mark who came over to show us his new ride on Wednesday. Be careful out there bro.

He said when I am ready he will take me for a ride. :)

Four Shots, Four Frogs and a Busy Four Year Old

You have probably guessed this already but the number of the week is 4! Abby had her four year old well visit on Thursday. She had to get 4 shots, 3 in one arm and 1 in the other. The nurse was great and did it so fast that Abby did not really feel it until the last one. She was so brave and did not even cry. I would have been crying after the first one. She did mention several times later in the day that she did not like shots AT ALL. So glad to have that over with.

Some fun with stickers.

Had our last summer Kindermusik class this week.

And the perfect end to our week - finding four little frogs (maybe toads, not sure) in the front yard this afternoon.

We have to give a shout out to our best buddy Ellie who just started using the potty this week. WAY TO GO ELLIE! Abby, Sydney and Chuckie Cheese helped her celebrate this huge move into Big Girl Land today.
Have a great weekend!

Here we go!

I can't believe I am saying it but here I go - I am a blogger. Well I guess I can't say that yet since this is my first post so let me edit that - I wanna be a blogger. Adam and I were talking and thought this may be a great way to share what is going on in our little corner of the world. So thanks for joining me in this new endeavor.

Daddy-O Day

You may not know this but Abby calls Adam Daddy-o more than she actually calls him daddy. When he walks in the door after work she yells DADDYOOOOO! Not sure where it came from but it's cute.

So we were explaining to her that it is Fathers Day, just like it was Mother's Day a few weeks ago and we were going to do special things for Daddy all day. Right away she puts her hands on her hips and says, "Well I am just sad about me not having a day." (John Rosemond would be so proud.) So don't be surprised if you see a post about Daughter Day in the near future.

We started the day by making Adam a yummy breakfast of pop overs and scrambled eggs. Abby cracked all the eggs and amazingly got very little shell in the bowl. You would think that squeezing an egg until it explodes would send egg shell everywhere but I guess not.

Then we were off to see a group called They Might Be Giants. It was a free concert that the children's library put on down town at a small theater. It was so much fun. Our friends Julie and Kelly were there with their families. I am so thankful to live in a city where there are so many fun things to do. It really is a wonderful place to raise a child.

We are very thankful around here for our Daddy-O. As Abby likes to say, "He is our best boy." Happy Father's Day Adam! I always knew you would be good at this dad gig but you're even better than I dreamed.
