Zucchini Parmesan Crisps

First of all, let me say that taking pictures of food is not my forte'. I don't want this bad picture to turn you off of my new favorite way to eat zucchini. Adam has made these for us several times and they are so yummy. If you like fried squash you will love this healthier option. Have I mentioned how thankful I am to have a husband that loves to cook????

This post brought to you by Abby

Hello there - Abby here. I learned how to use my mom's camera this week and here are some of the pictures that I took. This is my cat Cleo. She is outside in this picture because my mom and dad think I am too rough with her but enough about that...
This is my mom. She got a bad haircut this week so I was trying to help her out by leaving her hair out of this picture.

This is my mom and dad. Aren't they cute, although they are not always this smiley.

This is Tasha. She is a Backyardigan.

So, did you learn to do anything this week????

Goop

Here is a good rainy day activity: give your little one a cup of corn starch and a cup of water and let them start mixing it together a little bit at a time. It makes a fun goop. About the time Abby started getting bored with it we added a few drops of food coloring and toys.

The Rabbit Scarf

My wonderful brother-in-law Chris gave me this book for Christmas and I finally got around to making my first project from it. I had to use the sewing machine but that's okay. I'm not scared of that ole thing. :) It is a rabbit scarf for Abby.

Love the little tail.

My Reading Journal

A few of you have asked how my Bible reading is going. My dad recently gave me The Message Bible and it has helped me so much.
As far as the other books I have been reading I have been on a huge non-fiction animal kick. I highly recommend all 3 of these.

Wesley the Owl is the fascinating story of a young biologist that raises and lives with a barn owl for 19 years.

Izzy and Lenore is about two dogs, their owner and their work with hospice patients. I cried a good bit while reading this but did not want it to end.The Daily Coyote is set in a town called Ten Sleep. I think I want to live there. Great book that deals with love, loss and the relationship between a women and orphaned coyote that she shares her home with. The photography in this book is as amazing as the story.Just started Dewey: The Small Town Library Cat but so far I really like it. Now I am off to try to talk Daddyo into either a barn owl or coyote. :)

The Birthday Banner

I checked off two of my resolutions for the year this week - make a birthday banner and overcome my fear of the sewing machine. Well I am still a little scared of the sewing machine but we are working on our relationship. I followed this tutorial from my friend Julie's blog but made mine out of felt instead. It was really fun to make and I am excited about having a homemade decoration to put up for all of our birthdays.

March - In Like a Lion

We woke up to about 3 inches of snow Monday morning. Abby had a blast throwing snowballs, making snow angels and making a snowman.

Good Reads...

We have found some real treasures at the library this past month.

The OK book by Amy Rosenthal the child in this book is ok at lots of things but has big plans of being great at something someday.

If I Were a Lion by Sarah Weeks the mother in this book calls her little one "wild" and sends her to timeout. Can you guess why I was drawn to this one???

Abby learned to whistle this past week. So it was the perfect time to introduce her to this classic.
