overheard...

conversation between Abby and a 4 year old male friend we will call J:

J: Abby will you marry me?

Abby: Sure

J: I just don't know what to do. I want to marry L. also.

Abby: Well, I'm Abby.

J: I want to marry both of you. I just don't know what to do.

Abby: I know (finger up in the air). You should marry the library. Marry, library - they rhyme.

Some New Friends

I recently made these two sock monkeys for Abby. The instructions came from this book. So many cute ideas in here.

Wikki Sticks

I am always looking for ways to make learning fun here at our house and this is one of my new favorites. Wikki Sticks are wax coated string that you can mold into different shapes. I was so excited to find these cards to go along with them to help teach letter formation. They came from this site, which is one of my favorite places to buy birthday presents for our little friends or good quality toys for Abby. They even have free shipping right now. The girl that runs the shop has one of the best blogs ever with so many great ideas. If you have kids - you must check it out.

Any learning going on at your house this summer?

Frozen Fun

This is a picture from last summer but I wanted to remind you of this fun activity. Have your child gather some small toys and treasures in a bowl, add water and freeze. Then grab your self a drink, a magazine and relax while they are busy trying to free the items. We used hot water, salt, an old tooth brush, a nail brush, and an eye dropper.

June, June, Wonderful June

It has been an exciting month for The Clark Clan. Grandma Gail came for a visit, someone turned 40 and someone learned to swim (and neither one was me) :) I would also like to wish a happy first birthday to my little blog. Time really does fly when you are having fun.
How is June treating you?
